“I don’t think of them as procedures; but as options I can offer my patients for transformation!”

          — Dr. Patricia Arledge

My Goal:
is to enhance your appearance
subtly and beautifully.

Your Procedure

Dr. Arledge usually performs nose surgery using the closed technique – with incisions made inside the nose to enhance results and minimize scarring. In some cases, the open technique – requiring an incision along the underside of the nasal tip – is more appropriate. She will discuss options such as whether the “open” or “closed” technique is most appropriate for your rhinoplasty, as well as whether she recommends local or general anesthesia. Her goal always is to maintain the highest levels of comfort, quality, and safety.

During the surgery, Dr. Arledge uses tiny incisions to open your skin and reshape your bone and cartilage based on her precisely personalized treatment plan. After closing the incisions, she applies a temporary splint or bandages to protect your nose during your recovery process. The procedure typically takes 1 to 4 hours.

Dr. Arledge will place a splint on your nose to support it and minimize swelling. You will return to the office to have it removed after about 1 week. She also will provide you with detailed instructions about medications to take and how to limit your movements to protect your nose during the healing process. Most patients experience minimal swelling, which usually takes only a few weeks to subside. As you heal, you will notice that the shape and structure of your nose improves, with subtle changes continuing to develop for up to one year.

Results and Benefits

Dr. Arledge’s patients typically comment on the way in which their nose appears more balanced and in harmony with their other facial features. In addition to achieving a more attractive shape and size, rhinoplasty can correct nasal concerns resulting from an injury or birth defect. It also can improve breathing constraints for some patients. In almost every case, Dr. Arledge’s patients also tell her that they are delighted with the way their new nose has enhanced their entire appearance.
